Why some parly molten material rises toward Earth's surface.?

In general, the partial melt generated from mantle rocks is less dense than the unmelted portion of the rock. Thus, buoyancy moves the less dense melt upwards to the Earth's surface. Why those rocks are partially melted is a whole different question.
