What is the massive fire and damage that caused the world trade center government building number 7 to fall?

Building 7 was close enough to the Twin Towers that debris from their collapse caused significant structural damage to it. It was able to stand on its own afterward, but because it was so damaged, it wasn't considered safe for people to use it anymore, so they purposely demolished it like they would any condemned building.
